What does FAGD or MAGD stand for after your general dentist’s name? Your dentist is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an organization of general dentists who are dedicated to professional development and continuing education. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is a professional association of more than 40,000 general dentists from the United States and Canada.
The Academy of General Dentistry on June 9, 2018, conferred their Mastership Award to Scottsdale dentist, Dr. Reem Kidess. This is the highest honor available in the AGD. The MAGD is one of the most respected designations in the profession. This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence.
To accomplish this, Dr. Kidess completed 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours dedicated to hands-on skills and techniques. As a recipient of this award, Dr. Kidess has joined over 3,434 members of the dental community who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
Fellows and Masters of the AGD follow a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of dental care to patients. The award symbolizes the professional responsibility of general dentists to remain current in their profession and reminds each member of the dental profession to continue to learn new techniques for their dental practice.
When a dentist has achieved the Fellowship or Mastership Award, patients can be assured that their dentist provides the finest care in general dentistry. To date 3434 AGD members have gone on to receive Mastership.
